Nervous System & The Arts Program
Regulate your nervous system so you can finally finish and share your art consistently, without burning yourself out.
Or use these tools for better results with the artists, clients, and students you serve.
Next cohort starts March 15th • Limited seats due to live support
You have two paths inside this program:
Created for artists, by artists.
When your body keeps pulling the
emergency brake on you.
When your body
keeps pulling the
emergency brake
on you.
You might recognize yourself here:
- You swing between overdrive and shutdown when it’s time to make your art, market yourself, or share on social media.
- Therapy isn’t addressing your artistic issues, and your career isn’t changing or improving.
- You can’t say no to misaligned shows, clients, or classes and then quietly sabotage or ghost.
- Your body crashes with burnout, illness, or pain every time you gain momentum, making it hard to grow in your craft or career.
- You have no space left for yourself after over-giving to friends, students, collaborators, or clients.
- You secretly wonder if you’re too much, too broken, or too late to actually achieve your creative goals.
- Success feels like a threat, because you’re afraid that if things really worked out, your nervous system couldn’t support it.
Why The Fox Method Works When “Just Try Harder” Doesn’t
Most artists are taught to fix creative problems with more mindset, more discipline, or more technique. The Fox Method turns that upside down:
We start with your nervous system, because that’s the instrument everything else plays through.
When your body is stuck in fight, flight, or freeze, your brain literally reroutes blood flow away from creativity, nuance, and connection. That’s why you can rehearse something perfectly in the studio and then blank, shake, or disappear when it’s time to be seen.
The Fox Method is a nervous system first approach built specifically for artists and creative leaders. It blends:
- Polyvagal theory and cutting edge nervous system science
- Decades of professional stage, studio, and teaching experience
- Trauma-educated practices that honor sensitivity instead of shaming it
So instead of white knuckling your way through shows, classes, or launches, you learn to read your states, shift them on purpose, and build a creative life your biology can actually sustain.
Why Learn This From Ruby
Ruby Rose Fox has lived both sides of this:
- Award winning recording artist who charted on Billboard, has millions of streams, and has toured, recorded, and performed for years.
- Somatic and performance nerd trained in Polyvagal Theory, Linklater, Alexander Technique, and other nervous system informed modalities.
- Founder of MuscleMusic and The Fox Method, a nervous system gym used by artists, teaching artists, therapists, and creative leaders who are done sacrificing their bodies for their work.
She built this program after watching her own career, health, and relationships fray under the tortured artist mythology and then rebuilding from the nervous system up.
What Artists Are Saying
The maintenance of nervous system health will revolutionize acting training by providing tools to manage the habitual trauma reactions that can be triggered by the work. I wish I had this knowledge as a young actor and will be using these techniques in the classroom for years to come. Adrianne Krstansky, Head of Acting, Brandeis University
Ruby's MuscleMusic has bridged the gap in my 25+ year career as a performing artist where no counseling or therapy could. It’s been a radical freedom as a sensitive and expressive artist to cross this bridge. Amanda Rogers, Performing Artist, 25+ years
Before I learned about the Fox Method, I could not edit my book without dysregulating my nervous system and driving myself into a Freeze State. MuscleMusic gave me the knowledge and tools to regulate into a safe and social state and enter Flow and Superplay, making the pursuit of my art even more enjoyable. Deepshikha Anand, Writer
Inside The Fox Method Program there are two paths:

Real Artists ~ Real Results
Success stories from artists and educators with our nervous system tools
“The maintenance of nervous system health will revolutionize acting training by providing tools to manage the habitual trauma reactions that can be triggered by the work. I wish I had this knowledge as a young actor and will be using these techniques in the classroom for years to come.”
“Ruby's MuscleMusic has bridged the gap in my 25+ year career as a performing artist where no counseling or therapy could—giving me a clear picture of my nervous system states in all circumstances and supporting tools on and off-stage to continue to excel as a performer and advance as a nervous system leader.”
“Ruby’s work has changed my life. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found a way for my body and mind to make sense of past experiences in theater. If you have found your way to Ruby, I hope you give yourself the gift of sitting with the work, applying it to your life, and returning to it whenever this journey gets tough.”

FAQ
No. This is not therapy, psychiatry, or medical treatment. It is an educational coaching program that teaches you nervous system-educated tools for your creative life.
We do talk about trauma, safety, and regulation. We do not diagnose, treat, or cure any medical or psychiatric condition. If you are working with a therapist, doctor, or other provider, this course can often sit alongside that work as a practical way to bring nervous system tools into your projects, rehearsals, shows, studios, classrooms, and sessions.
You should always consult your own healthcare providers about what kind of support is appropriate for you.
Many of the artists who join us are in some stage of burnout, chronic stress, or navigating long-term illness. You do not need to be “all better” to be here. What you do need is enough capacity to attend live (or watch replays), try very small practices, and stay in gentle conversation with your system over time.
This course is not an emergency or crisis container. If you are in acute crisis, actively suicidal, in active addiction, or your care team has you in a higher level of medical / psychiatric care, this is not the right layer of support yet. In that case, please prioritize your medical and therapeutic care first and consider this work as something to add when you and your providers feel you have enough stability to engage.
Most people here have already tried therapy, mindset work, self-help, or just pushing harder – and are exhausted by stuff that treats their nervous system like a side note or a problem to override.
This is different because it’s built for artists, by an artist who’s lived it too, treats your nervous system as the primary instrument, and has you practicing tools in real-time with your actual creative life. We don’t promise a magic fix, but we do give you a clear map, practical tools that deliver, and ongoing 1-year group support designed for the realities of creative careers, not generic lab conditions.
Yes. You don’t need to be established, confident, or trained to start. Most people get the biggest results before they feel ready.
MuscleMusic is built for the exact things that stall artists early on: creative blocks, stage nerves, avoidance, burnout, and inconsistency. You’ll get practical tools to calm and shift your nervous system, stay consistent, and turn the urge to create into real output.
If you feel the desire to create but something keeps getting in the way, you’re exactly who this is for.
Yes. We offer payment plans through Kajabi, and you can also use third-party options like Klarna or Afterpay, which are available at checkout. You’re welcome to choose the option that best supports you, including paying in full or using your own credit card.
We do want to be transparent: this program is designed for people who are financially stabilized. If you’re currently facing food or housing insecurity, your wellbeing comes first, and we encourage you to join us when you’re more supported. For many artists, investing in themselves can feel emotionally difficult, and you’re not alone in that. Support and compassion are part of this work too.
You’ll receive a personalized onboarding email with step-by-step instructions to get set up. This includes access to your coursework in the Kajabi app, additional resources in the MuscleMusic app, and calendar integration so all Zoom sessions are automatically added, with no weekly scheduling stress.
Within a week from your enroll date, your physical materials will be shipped out to your home. Be sure to confirm your current mailing address with us by replying to your onboarding email with your address.
Both, with flexibility either way.
The core 6-week course lessons are pre-recorded and self-paced, so you can watch them anytime and move through the material on your own schedule.
In addition, the program includes several live components for real-time support and connection:
- Two private 1-on-1 coaching sessions with Ruby (live via Zoom)
- Weekly Deepening Sessions (live group support via Zoom, offered in multiple time zones)
- Weekly Superplay Workshops (live group learning and practice labs via Zoom)
- Weekly Breakthrough Room co-working sessions (live group accountability and momentum via Zoom)
All live sessions are optional to attend in real time and are recorded and shared, so you’ll never miss out if you can’t join live.
Yes, the full syllabus is available here and outlines all modules and course topics.
It’s important to know that while the layout shows how the material could be completed in six weeks, the course is intentionally designed to unfold over a full year. It’s deep, substantial work that challenges how you understand your nervous system, your past, and even free will. You’re encouraged to move at your own pace and take the time you need to truly integrate the material.
We understand this is a meaningful investment, and many artists worry they’re “uniquely broken.” You’re not. That’s why we offer a satisfaction guarantee. If you fully participate in and complete the coursework requirements, embodiment practices, and 1-on-1 coaching sessions, and the program genuinely doesn’t help you with the problem you came in for, you’ll receive your money back. We only offer this program because it has an exceptionally high success rate, and we stand behind it.
Yes. This course is intentionally designed with neurodivergent and “neurospicy” learners in mind. While the material unfolds in a thoughtful sequence, you’re free to move through it in the way that works best for your nervous system, out of order, at your own pace, or even listening podcast-style while taking a walk. If your system needs time to build trust, that’s okay. There are multiple flexible, creative pathways through the material to support different learning styles, disabilities, and trauma histories. You are welcome exactly as you are.
Yes, absolutely. All identities and all pronouns are welcome here. This work naturally attracts a wide and beautifully diverse community, from artists and performers to therapists, teachers, parents, and people from many different cultural and spiritual backgrounds. What unites everyone is a shared commitment to art, safety, connection, and meaningful change in the arts.
Group Zooms are live deepening sessions where we unpack and integrate the material together. They’re a space to ask questions, hear how others are understanding the concepts, and “reframe” to explore the ideas in multiple ways. If something didn’t land in a lecture, it can be explained differently in real-time. These sessions are especially supportive for neurodivergent learners and help ensure the work is not just understood, but embodied and lived.
Group Zooms take place in a warm, inclusive, and non-competitive environment designed to support growth, creativity, and peak performance. Artists from around the world and across all experience levels attend—from beginners to world-class professionals in many creative fields. It’s normal to feel nervous at first, but our culture is thoughtful, encouraging, and deeply supportive. Wherever you are in your journey, you’ll be welcomed and respected.
The Superplay workshops are Saturday group zooms focused on the art of pretend, performance, and how the nervous system supports creative play. They explore the theory of performance
The Breakthrough Room is a guided group Zoom space that blends stimulus exposure, nervous-system tools, accountability, and focused co-working. Together, we gently face the thing you’ve been avoiding, using regulation practices and real-time co-regulation so you’re not doing it alone. Learning and growth are naturally stressful. This isn’t trauma, it’s how the brain changes. The Breakthrough Room exists to help you move through avoidance and finally break through what’s been holding you back.
That’s completely okay! Our community is a low-pressure, unmasked, come-as-you-are space where authenticity is welcome, whether you’re quiet, emotional, awkward, or just observing. It’s all good! Part of the work is learning how to stay regulated in social connection, which can feel vulnerable, and we actively unshame that experience.
That said, while it is encouraged, live Zoom attendance is also always optional. Many participants, including therapists and teachers, have completed the course, had great outcomes, and earned certification without attending any group Zooms. Community is a powerful support, but never a requirement.
This is a private preliminary coaching session with Ruby designed to help you understand the material, navigate the course, and clarify your direction to build strong momentum at the start of your program. You don’t need to arrive with a clear goal—exploration is welcome. Together we’ll map what support you need, which tools to focus on, and how to move through the course in a way that fits you.
This session can be recorded if you wish to look back on it, and they’re required to take place during the first six weeks after enrolling to help set you up for success for the year ahead.
To become certified, you’ll complete 30 simple (and private) nervous system check-ins using your tracking cards and the MuscleMusic app, helping you build real skill in identifying and working with your nervous system states. It’s fun and fascinating. You’ll see how your nervous system shifts over time. You can even bring your results to your therapist if you want. Many people have found this to be immensely helpful.
You’ll also take a short multiple-choice quiz (unlimited attempts) to confirm understanding of the material, and submit a short reflection essay—written or video—on what you’ve learned and how the work is shaping your artistic path. Ruby’s support is available throughout the process, and the goal is growth, not perfection.
Yes, we have replays. All group zooms in your cohort are recorded and provided for you in Kajabi to download and watch on demand within the 6-week duration of your scheduled cohort.
Yes—you’re welcome to start as soon as you enroll, even weeks before the cohort begins. Many people enjoy getting familiar with the material early. If you find the content challenging or activating, it’s encouraged and perfectly okay to pause and wait until the cohort starts so you can receive full support. The course is designed to be done with guidance, and you’re never meant to go through difficult parts alone.
You’ll have access to your course for one year from your purchase date. Access expires after one year. If you wish to extend access beyond a year, please use the contact page to request one of our low-cost extension options, and we’ll send them to you.
That’s okay. If life gets in the way and you need more time, you can request one of our low-cost extension options without rebuying the course. This isn’t school and there’s no judgment here. The focus is on real learning, embodiment, and transformation, not deadlines. Support is available, and if you’re struggling, reaching out is part of the process. The goal is helping you get where you want to go, at a pace that works for you.
Yes, for students enrolled at normal price. After completing the requirements for certification, we’ll proudly mail you a physical copy of your certificate. For students enrolled with a scholarship or holiday sale price, we’ll email you a digital certificate which you’ll be able to print yourself.
